This high-impact training session includes a complete description of AS characteristics– using anecdotal examples to “make the pieces fit” the picture of your child. Nelle offers insight into the processing differences and changing perspectives of individuals with Autism and Asperger’s, and provides examples of resources and tools for use at home and in the classroom.
You’ll learn effective strategies for dealing with the challenging behaviour that is sometimes displayed by AS children and discover why success oriented learning using positive reinforcement works for these children.
Nelle will guide you in using her Ben and His Helmet books within the curriculum and as a tool at home to help the AS child gain the skills required for emotional regulation – self assessment, self monitoring and self management.
